Happy Monday lovers downunder!! I have a gorgeous wedding for you this morning from the beautiful and talented Kate Robinson. From the bride “Our wedding day was the most special and beautiful day for us. It started off as a beautiful sunny, January day, however by the time we were traveling to our venue it had started to rain but this did not dampen our spirits and we went ahead with our ceremony outdoors in the beautiful Ascension gardens. Guests were adorned with umbrellas and the wedding party was sheltered under the canopy. One Italian guest wrote in our guest book -“Sposa Bagnata, Sposa Fortunata,” which when translated literally means “Wet Bride, Lucky Bride.” My inspiration for our wedding day came from my life long obsession with pink and all things vintage! Which luckily my fiancee was happy to have as our wedding theme! Everything in our wedding was pink, grey and cream with a hint of gold. Almost everything in our wedding was DIY! I had a year to plan, organize and make everything, which took work everyday! I had amazing family and bridesmaids to help me.
I spent many weekends trawling through op shops looking for vintage cut glass and crystal vases for centrepieces along with pearl strands and a mix of pink and cream flowers sitting on a mirror surrounded by tea light candles. I sourced many glass jars and containers to create a DIY candy buffet which included teacups and glass canisters from The Vintage Table. My maid of honor designed and made the labels for the pink and white candy, artistically displayed. My aim for the wedding was pretty vintage, with a modern edge as I love both old and new. We were extremely happy with our day and wouldn’t change a thing! It was a fairy tale for us, as mentioned by guests many times.
