Shimmer and Sparkle with Shine Studios

9th December 2012

Monday is here and it’s only 15 days until christmas, time for some shimmer and sparkle from Shine Studios. A sunset shoot on Waiheke Island. I Love the Johanna Johnson gown, head piece and cuff combo. The couple have a gorgeous story to share with us. Enjoy the Love.

How did you meet and what’s your love story? A chance meeting at a friends BBQ has turned into 9 years of fun, adventure, destinations and milestones – including that of our wedding and most recently our first wedding anniversary. As with most couples, our wedding day went by in a flash and so we decided what better way to celebrate our first wedding anniversary than with our dearest friends and family back on Waiheke Island where the magic took place. When I saw Shine Studios Cherish Shoots I just knew I couldn’t resist the opportunity to get all glammed up again and back in my beautiful dress to have some fun, without the stress and emotion of a wedding day. From the moment I put my dress back on all those feelings of excitement came flooding back and with a smile on my face the whole time we had a ball frolicking in the Waiheke sunset. Where did you shoot and how did you decide on it? Our Cherish Shoot started at a private residence that we were staying at on the island for the weekend. Lauretta and I had discussed several options for where to go after this and couldn’t go past heading back Mudbrick Vineyard, back to where we were married– a destination that never ceases to dissapoint with its beautiful views and rustic feel, and completely in fitting with the vintage feel of my gown. We were very lucky with the weather and had the most beautiful evening light at the end of a stunning warm day….the results speak for themselves! Explain your wedding dress & how did you choose it? My wedding gown was made by the amazing Johanna Johnson who has a boutique in Paddington, Sydney. I knew as soon as I found her studio that I would find my dream gown and fell in love the moment I put on The Viva. Made from vintage silk satin and Parisian embellished lace detailing hand beaded on the back, it was a joy to wear on our wedding day, and again for our Cherish the Gown shoot. I also wore another dress from Johanna Johnson for our anniversary celebrations which featured in the shoot, a beautiful French lace mini which was perfect for the relaxed nature of the occasion.
